Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Days of Stay website at daysofstay.com ("Days of Stay", "we"). The Days of Stay iOS app has its own privacy policy.
The short version
- Your trips are stored only in your browser. We never receive them.
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or payment details.
- We count page views and anonymous actions, such as "a trip was added", with Umami, a cookie-less analytics service. These events never include your countries, dates, durations or day counts.
Information you enter
When you use the tracker you enter countries and arrival and departure dates. Days of Stay saves them in your browser's local storage (localStorage) on your device. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them.
The tracker also saves your language and theme preferences in your browser, and uses session storage for a few flags such as whether you have opened the demo.
Analytics
We use Umami (Umami Cloud) to understand how the site is used. It records:
- pages viewed, the referring website, browser, operating system, device type, language, and approximate location (country, region, city) derived from the request;
- anonymous actions on the site, for example opening the demo, adding a trip (without any details of the trip), changing the language or exporting a report, together with the screen size and theme.
Umami does not use cookies and does not store IP addresses. We cannot identify you from this data.
Hosting
The site is served by Railway (hosting) through Cloudflare (content delivery and security). Like any web server, they process technical request data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We do not use this data to identify visitors.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no sign-up.
- No advertising networks, tracking pixels or social media plugins.
- No sale or sharing of personal data.
Your control over your data
Your trips are on your device, so you control them:
- view or delete individual trips in the tracker;
- delete everything with "Reset data" in the footer;
- export a report with "Copy as Markdown";
- clearing your browser's site data also removes them. Data saved in a private or incognito window is lost when you close it.
Because we never receive your trips, we cannot restore them if they are deleted.
Children
Days of Stay is intended for adults managing their own travel and tax matters. It is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date above. Significant changes will be announced on the website.
